My lease is with ATT, ATT sold to Crown castle recently and I’m getting paid from Crown castle every month. I noticed recently Sprint wireless is on the cell tower too. I guess Crown castle add it on. It says A PORTION OF THE PROPERTY in my address has been leased to ATT on the Lease Agreement. Can I ask Crown castle to pay for Sprint add on? Also my agreement Term is 5x5years start from 2006, But Rent Guarantee is only to Jan 2016. Does this mean lease ends in Jan 2016? I’m in Dallas TX Thanks Michael
Comments for additional carrier add on without paying
Michael, thanks for the posted question. We are happy to take a look at your lease. Most likely scenario is that AT&T in their original lease with you has the right to Sublet/Sublease the Premises or portion of your property they are occupying. When Crown Castle purchased your tower two years ago the lease assigned over to them and then it sounds like you were talked into a Rent Guarantee with either Blackdot or Md7.
With 16 years remaining on the lease they probably will not give up too much as far as the Sprint revenue share is concerned, but they may be willing to adjust your rental terms. If Md7 or Blackdot or Crown come back and want you to accept another "rent guarantee" please call us so we can assist you.
