American Tower purchased 2500 square feet of the property we are currently purchasing. We have been paying the taxes on this property for over 3-4 years, even though we were just leasing before. Now that we are having the deed transferred I've notice that in the County appraiser has for all these years included that 2500sq ft and the structure in the appraisal amount. They said they never received any sales information. The previous owner thankfully gave me all the paperwork regarding the transaction and sale of this land to American Tower. Is there anyway to have them reimburse that money for all those years? I've got all the paperwork so they can not deny. They did rip the old man off, but I'm concerned about my money. I sure don't want to pay for them! Thank you,
I did contact the landlord department. Here is the thing, they did reimburse the old landlord back taxes which is great. But, now they are saying that they don't own the land they are just leasing it. So, then my questions are: if we bought the land did we buy that lease also? And, if so can we not charge them rent? I doubt you will see any reimbursement, however you should contact their landlord relations department.
