We have had a contract with Metro PCS for 6 years with 4 years left on the lease. They are now being bought out by T Mobile and want to break the lease. We see nowhere in the contract where this is allowed. Please advise and thank you. Thank you, Dave R
Further to the last posters comments, also check your lease for terminating timeframes. Normally 180 days written notice is required in my state.

TMO and Metro have been consolidating their technology because of the merger. This unfortunately impacts many of the sites that Metro has installed. You should check the termination language which is usually shown in section 13(iv) of your lease agreement. This section usually states that the Lessee can terminate if they determine that the premises are not appropriate for its operations for economic, environmental or technological reasons. I have never seen language that does not protect the Lessee in this manner. I regret to inform you that given the circumstances, they are allowed to do this. I recommend taking a look at the termination language to see if they are obligated to provide specific timelines/fees. Also, you may have certain obligations under this language as well.
