What is the percentage of cell towers out there in the United States are monopoles? I have been searching for this answer and can not find anything on this. thanks
Jayson, let's start with the industry not knowing exactly how to define how many cell sites exist vs. the number of actual towers. Some towers have 5 or more carriers. So it's difficult to say. Monopoles are usually found in metropolitan areas as they take up a smaller footprint. A free standing lattice tower is the next most common structure and on a vast majority of very rural towers you will fine guyed wire towers.
