I currently have a lease that will expire in 2014. I have been contacted by md7 to negotiate the terms of the new lease. I am looking for some with knowledge in these negotiations to negotiate the terms of the lease. I have contacted another company but they only provide information and do not negotiate with the company.
Richard we can certainly assist with the cell tower lease amendment review and also work with you (or directly with your attorney) to negotiate with the carrier to extend the lease. Make sure you do not sign anything (like a letter of intent or initial drawings) with the 3rd party representing the carrier. Many of the terms they want you to accept are usually quite overbearing.
Although we find that providing landlords with the acceptable lease terms they need is helpful, we prefer to engage the carrier directly ourselves as this helps expedite the process for all parties. Even when an Owner provides the carrier with the lease terms they need, carriers often push back, reject them or try to "wiggle out" of giving you the best terms. We speak "telecom" and when then see that Tower Genius is involved, they usually give us everything -- or just about everything we ask for.
