San Antonio new cell tower agreement imminent

In 1997, we purchased property and a small commercial duplex that encompassed an existing cell tower. At the time of purchase, the seller retained the leasing rights until 2013. Now that the lease agreement is coming to term, we are getting numerous requests to purchase the lease. While this is exciting and daunting at the same time, it seems the more research we do, the more we feel we would like to build and manage our own. Any other groups have the feeling that property owners are being taken advantage of?

That's a good thing that your lease is coming due. See if you can renegotiate any of the terms. Yes it is not surprising that there are a lot of lease buyout firms that want to purchase it. In a down economy people can use the cash. Also, many of the sales reps from these firms sell on fear. Since there are a lot of firms out there buying these wireless rental income streams, how does a landlord know the difference between Unison, AP Wireless Infrastructure Partners, AWC Advance Wireless Capital, CCG Communications Capital, Landmark Dividend, Wireless Capital WCP, Blackdot, Md7, Snake-Oil Dave and his cousin Billy Bob?

What can cell site landlords do to avoid making a huge mistake?

1. Flip a coin.
2. Take your chances.
